Snorkeling in Curacao #1






These photos were taken at Porto Mari in Curacao. The beach was absolutely beautiful, the water depth increased gradually, and the planted "reef balls" (see prior posts for explanation) gave the fish a nice home and made it easier for the snorkelers to find them.

As you can see, the water in Curacao was MUCH clearer than the water in Aruba. We had heard that the 10 meter waves in Aruba (due to Hurricane Dean) had hampered visibility enough that many snorkeling and scuba diving excursions in Aruba were canceled the day we were there. But definitely not a problem here!
