Finally it was time to head for the pier. We found a taxi van right away, and piled our ridiculously large number of bags into the van. Check-in at the pier was very fast, and soon we were on the ship with a few hours to grab lunch and tour around. Our luggage made it to the rooms by 2pm, which is when we were allowed access to the cabins. After unpacking, we donned swimwear and headed up to the pool deck. The pools are salt water, so it is a bit nasty when you put your face in it, but it also makes you extremely floaty. I seriously had to concentrate on standing upright in the water, because otherwise my feet were suddenly popping up to the surface, right out from under me.
The required Muster (don life jackets and head to the designated boat location) was done at 6pm. It only took about 10 minutes.
