Day Five: At Sea, Travelling North Again
I had great intentions last night of getting up early today. Poof. The alarm went off at 6:30am, and I got up and changed it to an hour later. It went off at 7:30am, and I just shut it off. At 8am, I woke up on my own and decided that it really was time to get up. I showered, got dressed, and headed downstairs to Deck 5 for a latte’ with a double shot of espresso. Next I went up to Deck 8’s Internet Café to see if the internet was working again, and it was. Of course, the remote access for the work email was still inaccessible, so I officially gave up on that. I returned to my room, grabbed my laptop, and headed to the Solarium on Deck 11. The login screen came up, but that was it. Back to Guest Services on Deck 5 with the laptop – this is when I learned that Royal Caribbean was installing a new internet and wi-fi service, but they ran into problems and the internet was knocked out completely for 2 days. The internet is back on, albeit unreliably and sporadically, but only in the Internet Café. The wi-fi is not working at all, so I got a refund for the prepaid minutes of internet access that I bought back on the first day.
After another ridiculously large breakfast, I bought a couple of paperback books in the General Store on the mall – I started and finished the only book I brought on the flight down – and after stopping for a pair of umbrella drinks, Caitlin and I headed outside.
