The end of Curacao

Caitlin and I opted for dinner in the dining room again, but Sharon and Mark both went for the buffet instead. I had shrimp, mussels and scallops with penne pasta in a chunky tomato sauce, and Caitlin ordered the tilapia. Mmmm good. Dessert was a banana and Baileys Irish Cream crème brulee, followed by a B-52 in a souvenir green shot glass. Absolutely wonderful.

After dinner, we headed up to the Viking Crown on Deck 14 to join Mark and Sharon. By then, I was silly enough from the dinner’s shiraz and the mango mai-tai and the B-52, that I just ordered a Diet Coke. We stayed up there for an hour or so, then Mark headed off to the room and we girls wandered down to the shops on Deck 5. Still placating myself for missing out on the Australian Fire Opals, I bought myself a set of pauai shell gold jewelry (earrings, bracelet, pin, necklace). And they were having a Dollar-an-Inch sale on white gold and yellow gold chains – some with additional gems or pearls, some fancy cuts, some just plain – and you could get any length you wanted. I bought a 23” curved-link necklace, which earned me a free matching bracelet.

Pretty soon it was 9:20pm, and we could barely keep our eyes open. It would have been fun (for me at least) to stay out late for 80’s music night in the Jesters nightclub, but I just could not stay awake until it started at 11:30pm. So off to bed for us!

Tonight’s towel critter is . . . well, I don’t know what he is!
